This has all been made possible because of your unwavering support. As our membership numbers continue to grow, over right now, so does our need for space.
What does this mean for you? First off, let us reassure you that the shop will remain in a convenient, easily accessible location. In fact, it is right across the hall from our old location at First Canadian Place, right beside the Indigo bookstore.
There will be no interruption to our services. There will however be some exciting changes.
We are delighted to announce that we are adding even more categories to our incredible Black Collection lines, accommodating your growing need for quality and fine craftsmanship. Our members deserve nothing short of transformative works of art and we fully intend to keep that promise.
Vassi is moving to a new home in Early September 2019.
On February 14, 1990, famed scientist Carl Sagan gave us an incredible perspective on our home planet that had never been seen before. As NASA’s Voyager 1 spacecraft was about to leave our solar system in 1989, Sagan, pleaded with officials to turn the camera around to take one last look back at Earth before the spaceship left our solar system.
The resulting image, from a distance of 3.7 billion miles, with the Earth as a speck less than 0.12 pixels in size, became known as ‘the pale blue dot”.
In honour of Sagan’s famous earth portrait, Canadian menswear designer, Andre Vassi, has created a limited edition “Pale Blue Dot” tie to be unveiled on February 14. The Italian silk, 7-fold tie features an indigo background reminiscent of the night sky, with a smattering of silvery stars and a single pale blue dot. Inside, the words “one planet, one people – piece, love and unity”.
The Vassi message: “Let us all deal more kindly with one another and to preserve and cherish the pale blue dot.”

Today at Vassi we release the much anticipated ‘Dump Trump’ ties. Simply put, I am overwhelmed with the attention they have garnered. However, there is a reason etiquette suggests avoiding political talk at the dinner table – passions quickly flare surrounding the subject! So while I am glad that the tie has sparked a conversation, I would like to share my motivation for creating it. Because frankly, this has less to do with politics and more to do with principles.
The ‘Dump Trump’ ties began as a playful rejection of a man who’s bullying tactics seemed unfit for someone seeking the Office of President of the United States. Over the course of the campaign, Trump has made countless statements, that were offensive to various demographics. However, the straw that broke the camel’s back was when he mocked the physical disability of Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, Serge Kovaleski.
Since releasing the ties, there have been those that have suggested as a Canadian I should mind my own business. It is not our election. However, the President of the United States yields far-reaching powers that affect the lives of people around the globe. It is our obligation as members of the human race to stand up for what we believe in; to shape the society we want to see created.
What makes Canada one of the greatest countries in the world is our harmonious diversity. I know I am only one voice, but I believe my Canadians share this sentiment with me.
The worlds needs more Canada. More inclusion. More unity. More love.

…We have more leadings doing what is honorable, instead of what will secure them re-election…
…We recognize we are all connected and strive to break down existing walls instead of building new ones…
…Nations like Canada are the norm – where diversity is celebrated, and people of all backgrounds and religions reside together peacefully.
We are all living under the same blue sky – and for the foreseeable future, this is the only place we have to call home. I know I am a dreamer. I know many of you think I’m naive. But I know with utmost certainty, the only way we will survive on this planet is in the pursuit of unity and love.
Again, this is just a humble whisper from a proud Canadian, who once immigrated and is grateful to have the opportunity to call the great city of Toronto home.
